Story and Stretch

Service Description

Story and Stretch is a class where yoga and Afrikan folklore are combined. We will begin each class with a story from the Afrikan Diaspora and, through yoga, connect our bodies to what our minds have absorbed in the stories. Students will also learn various breathing techniques. Registration is complete once Zelle Payment is sent to Fahodi Shule. Please contactfahodishule@gmail.com for more info. By the end of the class the students will have immersion in folklore like Anansi, Brer Rabbit, Brer Bear, stories by Virginia Hamilton etc. These wonderful stories will guide us through a journey of centering, meditation and yoga. By the end of the class the students will have breathing techniques and asanas connected to our beloved folktales, as well as a deeper appreciation for our stories throughout the Diaspora.
